Needing a Hitch Reducer From 2-1/2 Inch to 2 Inch Hitch and Extend at Least 4 Inches
Question:
We have a new GM truck with a 2.5 receiver. It is a stake body, and the hitch is recessed under the body to the extent we also need to extend it out about 4 inches. Is there a 1 piece adapter that would reduce our receiver from 2.5 to 2, as well as bump us out 4 inches? Any good hitch options you can think of?

Expert Reply:
The Brophy Hitch Reducer and Extender, # HR26, will reduce from 2-1/2 to 2 inch hitch opening and has a 6 inch extension.
The Brophy hitch reducer and extender is the closet product to a 4 inch extension that we offer.
Note: Using a hitch extension will decrease your hitches weight capacity by 1/3.
