The surge protection in the Camco RV Power Defender Circuit Analyzer Dogbone # CAM55312 provides one-time-event protection. I confirmed this with my technical contact at Camco. For a re-setting surge protector you will instead want to use their # CAM55301. This unit will re-connect automatically when a voltage surge downs back down to a nominal 102-to-132-volt level.
