Will Same Mount Bracket And Wire Harness Fit Tekonsha Prodigy And Prodigy P2 On 2002 Chevy Silverado
Question:
I have a 2002 chev silverado duramax. I have a tekonsha prodigy controller with a factory wiring harness. Will the existing slide in bracket and the wiring harness for the prodigy also fit the prodigy P2?

The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Proportional Brake Controller, part # 90885, and the Tekonsha Prodigy Proportional Brake Controller will both use the same Tekonsha Mounting Pocket for Prodigy Proportional Brake Controller, part # 7686.
The wiring harness for the Tekonsha brake controller that will plug into your 2002 Chevrolet Silverado factory brake controller port is the Tekonsha Wire Replacement for GM Vehicles, 1999 - 2002, part # 3025-P. This harness will plug into both the Prodigy and the Prodigy P2 brake controllers.
If you do not have the factory 7-way at the rear of your vehicle, and have a bundle of wires above the spare tire, you will also need to install the Pollak 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector Socket w/ Wiring Harness and Mounting Bracket, part # PK11898. This 7-way will hardwire to the bundle of wires.
If you do not have the factory 7-way, and have a round plug with a cap above the spare tire, you will also need the Hopkins Replacement Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connector, part # 30955.
I am including a link to a FAQ page on brake controllers on Chevrolet trucks.
