Recommended 5th Wheel Rail Kit And Hitch Compatible With Air Springs On 2003 Ford F-250

Question:

I have the F2071 airbag kit on my 2003 F250. The previous owner had a fifth wheel hitch in it but I am not sure what kind. Is there a hitch setup that will install with this airbag kit already on the truck?

For your 2003 Ford F-250, I recommend using the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP50082-58 that are custom brackets for your truck along with industry standard rails that will work with a variety of hitch options.

For a 6-3/4 foot bed, I recommend using a sliding hitch to allow you the clearance you will need for safe turning. I really like the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R16 Slider - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs # C16521. This hitch has a great interlocking jaw locking feature around the king pin of your trailer and also has the round tubes that don't bind your slider. This slider will give you 12 inches of travel between the two locked positions.

This combination will work very well with your Firestone Air Springs on your 2003 F-250.
