Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Hi, Was looking for tow options on my Jeep to pull behind an RV. Not sure if it can be flat towed or if a Dolly is an option. Thanks!

I checked your vehicle owner's manual and there are a few options for towing your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee behind an RV depending on whether it is two-wheel or four-wheel drive. I strongly recommend checking your manual before flat or dolly towing for specific limitations and instructions.

If you are able to flat tow, there are a few items you will need.

For a base plate on your Grand Cherokee, I recommend the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1128. Once installed, the base plates provide attachment points for your tow bar needed to pull the vehicle. This is a custom-fit base plate kit with arms that can easily be removed for when you are not flat towing.

Next you will need a tow bar. I recommend the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar # BX7380 because of its easy installation process. This will slide into the hitch receiver of your RV and has a weight capacity of 6,500 lbs.

For a wiring kit, I recommend the RoadMaster Diode Wiring Kit # RM-15267 to activate your Jeep's signal lights required for towing because a diode kit allows you to use your vehicle's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV. I also like this particular kit because it includes an 8 foot 7-wire to 6-wire coiled electrical cord.

You will then need a supplemental braking system to control the brakes on your Jeep while pulling it behind your RV. I recommend the Blue Ox Patriot II Proportional Braking System # BLU37TR along with relay kit # RM-88400. This is a great proportional braking system which means that the brakes in your Jeep will be activated at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your RV.

Lastly, you will most likely need a high-low adapter to keep everything level between your RV and Jeep. I have included a link to our selection of adapters for your review so you can choose the appropriate rise or drop for your setup.
