Tire Chain Recommendations for a 2010 Acura MDX
Question:
For a 2010 Acura MDX, can I put on one set of chains for use in snow and ice? If so, do I install them on front or back?

On your 2010 Acura MDX you can use 1 pair of chains, like the Glacier Tire Chains, # PW1046, that you have referenced, for use in snow and ice. You will want to put the chains on the primary drive wheels of the vehicle. For example, if you have a front wheel drive vehicle you would put them on the front wheels. For rear wheel drive vehicles, you would put them on the rear wheels.
From the research I did, your MDX is all wheel drive. All wheel drive vehicles usually engage all 4 wheels as needed, though some may be all time all wheel drive. If you have an all wheel drive vehicle that normally just uses 2 drive wheels, you would place the chains on those wheels. For all time all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive, you would place them on the rear wheels.
For the PW1046 chains, I recommend using rubber adjusters for the best fit. For your vehicle you can use either # PW100 or # PW99 as your tires are between the two sizes so either one will work. You will need to consult your vehicle owners manual to determine if chains can be used and if there are any restrictions or recommendations. I have included a link to our FAQ article on tire chains for reference. I have also included a link to all of the chains that will fit the 255/55-18 tire size on your MDX.
