Kayak Carrier on 2006 Mercury Milan with Glass Moon Roof

Can I use this on my 2006 Mercury Milan with a moon roof,the kayak weighs 36 pounds.?

Expert Reply:
I don't recommend putting anything directly onto the roof of your 2006 Mercury Milan, like # MPG152, because of the moon roof.
Instead I suggest using a semi custom roof rack # SR1010 and adding the Rightline Gear Kayak Carrier # RL100K10. This will keep the foam blocks off the roof and give you a much safer system.
Before you do anything though I would check your owner's manual for the weight capacity of your roof. Adding a roof rack will not increase this.
