How to Install Curt Trailer Hitch on 1994 Ford Thunderbird

Question:

Do you have a video of how the trailer hitch attaches to a 94 Ford Thunderbird as far as I can see there are only blank holes where the bolts should go in the frame under the car.

I have some information that will help, but we do not currently have any videos showing a trailer hitch installation on your 1994 Ford Thunderbird.

For the Curt Class II Trailer hitch Receiver # C12053, the installation instructions do state that some applications may require that the access hole in the frame of your vehicle be enlarged slightly to accept the hardware. Installation on your vehicle also requires the fishwire technique. This technique uses a bolt leader to pull parts such as the carriage bolt and hole spacers through a hole in your vehicle frame and back out through another hole further down the frame. This is performed in order to align the bolt and spacer correctly through the blank holes you are seeing. I have included an image and a great video further demonstrating this process for your review.

You will then bolt the hitch to the frame hole using the provided 1/2" carriage bolts, square hole spacers and 3/8" conical tooth washers, then tighten the bolts as described in the instructions.

I have also provided the installation instructions for you to check out.
