Tow Bar Lighting and Trailer Wiring Recommendation for 2016 Chevy Equinox
Question:
Question on wiring harnesses Have 2017 equinox using for a tow car and also adding a trailer hitch to it. Need lights for both.See below example and tell me if I can do this with your two harrnesses. Another question Example: I have installed the tow harness lighting kit HM56108 to have lights on my tow vehicle. Iam now adding a trailer hitch #76028 and need lights for my trailer when I hook it to my SUV. Do I now purchase your trailer light harness #56094. They both plug into existing tail light assy. My question is . Will these two harnesses piggyback each other.? If not how to I get lighting to my tow car for lights and a plug for regular use when I need to use my trailer?

For trailer wiring for your 2017 Chevy Equinox you would want the Tekonsha Kit part # 118494 which is a custom fit.
Then for tow bar wiring you would want to go with a diode kit since the harness style kits can't be used with trailer wiring installed.
For lighting you can use the diode kit, # RM-15267, and not have to worry about cutting into the taillight housing. This will splice into your taillight wiring to allow your tow vehicle to control the taillight assemblies of the towed vehicle. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV.
