Is Stoplight Switch Kit and Brake Lite Relay the Same Thing for 2012 Chevy Equinox

Question:

I have a ready brute elite tow bar with the brake system built in. It basically pulls the break pedal when the RV stops. I bought the blue ox base plate and the trailermate custom wiring from you. It also said they I may need the road master brake-light relay 88400 which I bought. But then when I was installing I noticed road master says I need a stop light kit PN 751439. Can I just use the relay kit or do I need the stop light kit?

The brake lite relay part # RM-88400 and the stop light switch kit part # RM-751439 are different parts that perform different functions.

You will also need the part # RM-751439 if your braking system needs to be notified when the brakes are applied.
