Question:
Im curious what the tongue weight rating is for this coupler?

Expert Reply:
Believe it or not but you almost never see tongue weight ratings on trailer couplers. But the best thing to do is stay at 10 to 15 percent of the gross weight capacity. Bulldog coupler # BD028499 is rated for 12,500 pounds gross trailer weight but doesn't have a listed tongue weight capacity. So at 10 to 15 percent that would be 1,250 pounds to 1,875 pounds. But you would still be limited to the tongue weight rating specified by the trailer manufacturer (if applicable). I have linked a video of this coupler for you.
