Difference Between Tire Sizes 5.70-8 and 215/60-8

Question:

I have 5.40-8 tires on my utility trailer. I want a wider tire and was looking at the 215/65-8 size tire. Was wondering about the height and width difference

5.40-8 is not a standard trailer tire size but 5.70-8 is and I imagine that's what you mean to type since the 4 and 7 are close on the keyboard. The tire will be right at 3-1/2 inches wider and the overall diameter will be only .2 of an inch larger.

You would need a different wheel too though since the two tire sizes won't fit the same rim. For that you would want the # AM3H325 for if you have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern or part # AM3H300 for if you need a 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern.
