Does Longer Shank of MaxxTow Adjustable-Height Ball Mount MT70068 Affect Capacity of Hitch
Question:
Hello, I recently purchased the MaxxTow 70068 ball mount. It came as expected, thanks for the solid service. Just a quick question: this product has the long shank which I apparently didnt need. Im fine with it as long as there arent any safety concerns with having a long shank when a standard length shank would have been more appropriate. Are you aware of any concerns with this? First time tower here Thanks for your time.

The MaxxTow Adjustable Ball Mount part # MT70068 does come with a pretty long shank. But the only real thing at risk will be your shins. The added length does put a bit more leverage on the hitch, but it does not negatively affect the capacity of the hitch.
In a lot of situations where a short trailer is being towed adding length can make it easier to back up.
