To choose a weight distribution system you need the tongue weight of your loaded and ready to tow trailer added to the amount of weight you're carrying in the bed of your F-150 behind the rear axle. You'll want the total number to fall in the middle of the range of the system you choose. The best way to determine your trailer's tongue weight is to load it up as if you were towing it and weigh it using a tongue weight scale # e99044.

Once you have your truck and trailer loaded you'll likely need a system rated for 1,000 pounds tongue weight like the Reese Steadi-Flex # RP66559. This system uses automotive style friction pads, very similar to vehicle brake pads, for sway control.

It doesn't include a hitch ball so you can use # A-90 for a 2 inch ball or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch ball.
