Recommended Camera to Use for Inside of Motorcycle Trailer

Question:

Hello, im looking at the Rampage 7710 camera. I want to install a camera it does not have to be that exact one in my cargo trailer to monitor my Harleys while driving or hotel stops etc... I have a 2017 F250, with just the tailgate reverse camera. My thoughts as these cams only have a 4 hr battery, is to hard wire somehow to the breakaway battery or another 12v battery inside the trailer, and monitoring it on a tablet? Regards

The Rampage Wireless Backup Camera # RA7710 that you referenced is a great option for a wireless camera, since it has the magnetic base it can be mounted in a variety of places around your vehicle or trailer. My contact at Rampage said that you can use the camera while it is plugged up to power, but since it is compact you will get feedback through the microphone. The video will work fine, but you will need to turn the volume down because of the feedback.

The best way to use this camera would be to use a separate 12 volt battery in the trailer for the camera. To connect your camera to the battery you can use the Hopkins 12-Volt Power Socket # HM55115. Since the wiring on the outlet is not very long you might want to use the Deka Jacketed 2 Wire # 10-2-1 so that you have more options of where to place your camera.

Keep in mind that this camera has a WiFi range of about 100 feet. This is the standard range for wireless cameras, so you will need to park fairly close to your room if you are going to be using this while staying at a hotel.

I have attached some demonstration videos for you as well.
