For your 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, I have few hitches for you to review that will fit your vehicle.
I recommend the Curt Class IV Hitch, # C14006. The Curt hitch is a custom-fit hitch that will mount to the frame of you truck without any additional drilling to the truck's frame. The hitch has the 2 inch receiver opening which will allow you to choose from a larger variety of hitch accessories, like bike racks or cargo carriers. This hitch has a 1000 lbs tongue weight and 10000 lbs towing rating and 1200 lbs tongue weight and 12,000 lbs towing when used with weight distribution.
We also carry the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Hitches, # 76016 and # 75866. These hitches have a tongue weight rating of 900 lbs and a towing capacity of 6000 lbs. Like the Curt hitch, the Draw-Tite hitches are custom-fit and will mount to existing holes in your Chevy's frame. The two main differences between both Draw-Tite hitches is that #75866 has a round tube construction and
a higher weight capacity when using weight distribution. The Draw-Tite hitches are more cost efficient than the Curt hitch, but the Curt hitch has a higher standard weight capacity.
I also recommend a ball mount kit # 989900 and a wiring harness, if your vehicle does not already have one, # 118384.
I have linked an article with tips for installing hitches and two installation videos for both the Curt and Draw-Tite hitches for you to review.
