On your 2011 Nissan Pathfinder, I recommend using the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This will use your current 4 way trailer connection and give you the connectors, wire, and circuit brakers needed to add the reverse, power, and brake controller leads to give you a functional 7-way connection. I've included a video of this installation for you.

For a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This will give you a proportional brake controller that will give your trailer brakes the same amount of pressure and at the same time that you hit your brakes in your Pathfinder. This controller has an easy to read LCD display that lets you know what you need with just a quick look. There are no codes to decipher, it is just straight forward and functional. It has 3 boost settings and is adjustable for your driving preferences.

We do have a wireless brake controller option with the Curt Echo # C51180. This unit will require a 7 way connection with your 4 way wiring connected and a 12V power lead to the battery. You can use # C57674 along with # 10-1-1 wire sold by the foot. It will give you the wireless brake controller with a deceleration sensor and the 12V powered controller with the unit itself mounted to the trailer.
