Wiring Recommendation For 7-Way Trailer Connection On 2013 Peterbuilt
Question:
Hello I have some technical support questions that I hope you could answer. I have a 40 foot gooseneck trailer with electric brakes that I currently pull with a 2016 dodge ram 5500. I run the truck and trailer for my hot shot business. I am wanting to upgrade my truck to a 2013 Peterbilt with a small sleeper and was wondering if you sell a kit to run the RVs 7way Electric trailer brakes with this truck.

We have a kit that should work to give you a 7-way with your truck. You will start with the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit, # 119250KIT. This will allow you to capture the signal without splicing into the wires. This 4-way harness can be used with the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 to give you the 7-way connection.
If you need a brake controller, I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This is a proportional brake controller that will give you an easy to read LCD screen to make code deciphering a non-issue. It has 3 levels of boost and is customizable for your driving preferences.
