For the 1-1/4 inch trailer hitches we carry for the 2010 Lincoln MKX, the recommended ball mount is Draw-Tite Ball Mount, # 36051. This ball mount has a 5/8 inch rise or a 1-1/4 inch drop. It is rated for 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 300 pounds tongue weight capacity.
This ball mount accepts a ball with a 3/4 inch diameter shank like ball # 19258 (2 inch diameter) or ball # 19256 (1-7/8 inch diameter). I have also included an FAQ article on choosing the correct ball mount below.
