Troubleshooting No Power On Wiring Harness Underneath Dash For Primus Brake Controller
Question:
I have a 2013 Silverado pick up trying to hook up a Primus model number 90160 I have no power on my wiring harness that comes up from underneath the dash I hook up the controller the way the directions told me to I need help what do I do

If you have the bundle of wires under the dash, as you can see in the attached video, you will need to connect those as the photo you attached shows you have done. Then you will need to get under the hood and by your fuse box, cut the red wire free and attach it to your terminal. This is the power for your brake controller.
If this does not give power to your brake controller, we will need to troubleshoot using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to check for power function on your wire at the terminal and just before and after the connection to your brake controller. If you have power on that wire all the way to the brake controller, then the controller itself is bad. If you don't have power at some point along that wire, then you will need to run a new wire from the terminal on the fuse box to your controller. Your 12V wire also needs to be connected for you to have that 12V at your trailer connector as you can see in the video as well.
