When you said rear mount I assume you are talking about a trunk-mount bike carrier. I will make a recommendation for that and also a hitch-mounted carrier as well.

The trunk-mount bike rack I recommend is the Thule OutWay, part # TH56BV. I like this carrier because it uses only 2 cables to attach to the vehicle instead of the 4-6 as most carriers use. This carrier uses the FitDial system that makes it easy to fit the vehicle. This carrier can hold three bikes with a total weight capacity of 99-lbs.

Since you are planning on carrying bikes with alternative frames like kids bikes or women's bikes I recommend using an adapter bar like part # 64005. This attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem and allows the bike to be carried more level in the carrier while providing additional ground clearance. I have attached a product review video for this adapter bar.

If you are planning on carrying more than three bikes you will need to install a trailer hitch and use a hitch mount bike carrier.

If your Santa Fe is a GLS or Limited I recommend part # 75776. This is a Class lll trailer hitch and it has a 2-inch receiver opening. If you have the Sport model the trailer hitch I recommend is part # C13152, which is also a Class lll.

For a hitch mounted platform bike carrier I recommend part # TH83JV for 2 bikes or # TH69TX for 4 bikes. This is the Thule T2 Pro XTR carrier. This will accommodate bikes like women's and kids bikes without needing an adapter bar. It can carry bikes up to 60 pounds each.

For a more cost-effective carrier I recommend a hanging bike carrier like the Thule Hitching Post Pro, part # TH934XTR. This will carry four bikes that can weigh up to 35-lbs each. With a hanging bike carrier you will need to use the adapter bar for the women's or kid's bikes so they can be carried level.
