The best place to mount an automatic transmission cooler such as # D12904 on your 1967 Ford Galaxie or any vehicle is in between the vehicle grille and the AC condenser core. Here it will get the most airflow and be the most efficient.
The second best place is between the AC condenser core and the radiator.
And third, between the radiator and fan.
I have included a picture that should also help along with a link to our help article on transmission coolers.
