Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2009 Toyota RAV4
Question:
Hi, I have an 09 Toyota RAV4, and would like to know how far out the receiver projects beyond the bumper. Ive seen some which seem flush but out enough to bark your shin on.

I have looked at the etrailer Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, item # e98864, and according to the installation instructions, the front face of the receiver is nearly flush with the bumper at the furthest rearward point. I've linked you to the installation instructions.
If you'll be using the hitch for towing purposes, you'll also need the following to complete your towing system:
Trailer wiring harness, part # 118412
Ball mount, part # C45010
1-7/8 inch trailer ball, part # 19260 or 2 inch ball, part # 63845
