No Lights On Trailer When Using Curt Wiring Harness # 56083 On 2010 Lexus RX350 Without Tow Package
Question:
After I hooked up the wiring harness to the factory plug, I found I didnt have any turn signals, brake lights, or running lights on my boat trailer. Ive seen on other internet posts that you need to run a power line from the battery back to the harness, but this wasnt stated with the Curt-T connector instructions. What is it that I actually need to do to get the harness to properly work? Vehicle is a 2010 Lexus RX 350, wihout tow package. Thank you for your input

On your 2010 Lexus RX350 without a tow package, you would need to use Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118478. I have included a link to the installation details below. This harness includes a circuit protected converter and requires a direct connection to the battery. This connection to the battery virtually eliminates power draw from the vehicles taillights, which protects the sensitive wiring.
The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Connector, part # 56083 is for the 2010 Lexus RX350 with a tow package, so it is not designed to work with models that do not have a tow package. According to the installation details linked below, some vehicles will need to be reprogrammed at a dealership to allow this wiring harness to work. This harness draws power and signals for the trailer lights from the vehicle wiring.
