Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2016 Ford Edge Titanium Behind 2014 Thor Chateau Motorhome

Question:

Trying to understand what I need to setup my 2016 Ford Edge Titanium with active cruise to flat tow behind my 2014 Thor Chateau Super C. I want the Roadmaster EZ4 baseplate, car mount towbar, Invisibrake, and a lighting kit. I use my coach to tow a flat trailer on occasion, which is why I want a car mount bar, but I also want it invisible when we are not towing. What are your recommendations for what I need? I dont want to pay a Camping World premium. I have better that average mechanical skills.

The items required for safe and legal flat towing are outlined in the linked overview article on towing a vehicle behind a motorhome. You will also want to check that the hitch and the MH's frame both are rated adequately for the total weight of your trailer (and the Edge too, of course).

Starting with base plates, you can use the Roadmaster kit # RM-524448-4. These fit the Edge without 2.0 EcoBoost. For a car-mount tow bar you can use their StowMaster Tow Bar # RM-501.
For safety cables you can use the coiled type that won't drag on the ground, part # RM-643.

You can use the Roadmaster InvisiBrake kit # RM-8700 along with Stop Light Switch kit # RM-751475 for your toad braking system.

Options for wiring/lighting kits are shown on the linked page. These include simple plug-in magnetic light kits like # TL21RK (which also requires Battery Quick Disconnect # RM-766) and a diode-equipped harness # HM56011 (also needs the RM-766).

The connected tow bar should be level (no more than 3-inches high or low at either end) so you may need an adjustable ball mount on the MH. I linked our 2-inch ball mount page for you and a helpful article.
