Because you have the factory tow package in your 2014 Toyota Tundra, if you don't have a factory brake controller, you will need one. For a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional, # 90195. This will give you braking at your trailer with the same timing and the same intesity in which you brake in your truck. This controller is an easy to read LCD display that takes the code deciphering of most brake controllers out of the question, giving you the information you need at a quick glance. It is adjustable for your driving preferences, and simply plugs into your dash using the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers, # 3040-P. I've attached an install video to assist.

You may also want a weight distribution system to keep your truck from squatting in the back and lifting in the front. This will also help with sway control. When looking at a weight distribution system, you want to consider the total tongue weight and find a system that finds that weight in the middle of it's range. The total tongue weight is made up of the tongue weight of the trailer when fully loaded (normally 10-15% of its total weight) along with any cargo weight behind the rear axle of your truck. I've included an article to help.

For a weight distribution system based on the information you gave, I recommend the Strait-Line Weight Distribution w Sway Control - Trunnion Bar - 15,000 lbs GTW, 1,500 lbs TW, # RP66130. This system has a total tongue weight rating between 800-1500 lbs. This system is a favorite because the dual cam sway control stops sway before it begins. The patented system allows support as you drive straight and keeps the trailer in line with your vehicle. When turning, it allows the spring bar to overcome the cam and keeps some tension then automatically reconnects for straight driving stabilization.

This system requires the Reese Weight Dist Shank - 12-1/4" Long - 2" Drop to 6-1/2" Rise - 1,500 lbs TW, # RP54970, and a hitch ball like # C40030.
