You will want to select a cushioned equalizer that matches the dimensions of your current ones and that is rated for the axles on your trailer. Axles usually have a sticker or plate that tells their weight rating.

The linked page will display all cushioned equalizers for tandem axle double-eye spring applications. We offer both the Lippert Equa-Flex kits like # LC279688 which works with 6K-8K axles and that has 7-1/2-inch spacing between its shackle bolt holes, and Dexter E-Z Flex kits like # K71-652-00 that works on up to 6K axles with shackle bolt hole spacing of 5-1/4 to 6-1/4-inches.

These kits are helpful when you want to improve ride quality and your leaf springs are already confirmed to be in good shape. Depending on the condition of your leaf springs you might be better off replacing them.

If your springs are shot then replacing them when you install the cushioned equalizers will probably give you satisfactory results and avoid the need for shocks. In any case installing shocks, should you still feel the need, should follow after installation of new springs and equalizers.
