Can Trailer Tire & Wheel Combo # AM35351DX be Used with Hub that Uses Wheel Bolts and Not Lug Nuts
Question:
My four-by-four trailer hubs take bolts, not lug nuts. Will they work with your tapered-hole steel wheels?
asked by: Seth M
Expert Reply:
Because your hubs take wheel bolts that means that the wheels are hub-centeric meaning it uses the hub to center the wheel. For this design the pilot hole of the wheel has to match exactly with the old wheels. On tire and wheel combo # AM35351DX the center pilot hole is 2.84 inches in diameter.
So if that matches you can use this tire and wheel combo provided that your wheel bolts have the 60 degree coned head. If not you will need to replace them with ones that do have the proper shape. For an example take a look at # RG02-020 which are 1/2 inch wheel bolts with the 60 degree head.
