Recommended Base Plates And Flat Towing Accessories For 2008 Saturn Astra

Question:

I have a Falcon Roadmaster All Terrain tow bar. I am needing a base plate for a 2008 Saturn Astra. Do you have a part number? What about the InvisiBrake system?

We do have a baseplate that will fit your 2008 Saturn Astra. It is the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX3333. This base plate kit will require the bumper fascia to be removed and will require some trimming.

There are adapters needed to make these baseplates work with your Falcon Roadmaster All Terrain Tow Bar # . You can use the Roadmaster Tow Bar to Blue Ox Brackets Adapter # RM-031 or the Blue Ox Base Plate Adapter Brackets for Roadmaster Tow Bars # BX88151.

If you need safety cables for your tow bar, I recommend the RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000 lbs, # RM-643. Their vinyl coating will protect from scratches and the coiled design will prevent excess slack and dragging.

If you don't already have a flat tow universal lighting system, I recommed the Heavy Duty Magnetic Tow Lights - 20' Wiring Harness with 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector, # TL21RK, as there are not custom wiring harnesses for this vehicle. This will simply attach with magnets and connect to your tow vehicle trailer connector.

If you don't already have a braking system, I recommend the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System - Proportional, # BLU37TR. This is a great proportional system that will apply the brakes in your 2008 Saturn Astra with the same amount of force as you brake in the towing vehicle. It is a simple connection as this unit will connect to a 12V power outlet and clamp to the brake pedal itself while sitting on the floorboard up against the driver's seat. This is a great unit that is easy to install and remove. The InvisaBrake System # RM-8700 you mentioned will take some work to install, but is a good system. It will require splicing and routing wires, but it is a one time installation. I've included a video for you for reference.

You may need a hi-low adapter for your application. I've attached an article and a link to that page for you.

Let me know if you have any questions or need further recommendations.
