Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with Above-Bed Base Rails
Question:
I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD LTZ 6.6 Turbo Diesel and Im preparing to purchase a fifth wheel toy hauler and do some extensive traveling across the U.S.. I have the rails mounted in the bed and Im looking to find a reliable hitch to mount on them and would like some assistance with this matter. Thank you and God bless!

If your 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD has a 6-1/2-foot bed you will need a sliding hitch to provide turning clearance for your toy hauler. I recommend the 18K B&W Patriot # BWRVK3270 which features 12-inches of slider travel, 1-inch thick dual jaws for excellent grip on your trailer's king pin and a double-pivoting head assembly that will make for easier hitching when the truck and trailer are not perfectly level. This hitch will fit into any brand of industry-standard above-bed base rails like # BWRVK2500.
If you have an 8-foot bed you can use either of the fixed (non-sliding) B&W hitches shown on the linked page, such as the 18K Patriot # BWRVK3255, which shares the features and outstanding build quality of all B&W 5th wheel hitches. If you also need an in-bed wiring harness you can use part # 50-97-410 which is a plug-in installation at your factory 7-way.
I recommend the B&W products without hesitation because they are fully engineered, tooled and assembled here in the U.S. (in Humboldt, Kansas) and for their advanced features and limited lifetime warranty. Having worked with B&W for a few years I can assure you they are a great family-owned outfit that respect their employees and customers. If there is a better-made 5th wheel out there we have not seen it.
