Hopkins Backup Sensor System Alarm Comes On and Stays on When Vehicle is in Reverse
Question:
Unit worked great for around 4 months then one day it just started to alarm when vehicle was put in reverse. Not a beep.. Beep, just a steady tone. Ive checked all connections, tried adjusting the volume and cleaned sensor. HELP......

Check the positioning of the sensors on the backup sensor system # HM60100VA. It is possible that one or both got knocked upward or downward and is now sensing a part of the vehicle.
You can also try positioning the bracket so that the sensors are at the bottom.
It could also be a short somewhere. What I would try is to make new connections for all of the wiring. If it still happens then there is an internal problem somewhere and the unit will need to be replaced. This particular unit does have a 3-year warranty.
