Roof Rack for 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Hard Top

Question:

I am looking at a gutter attachment bar system for my Jeep. I have a Thule roof top carrier already that I use on my mini van. I have three questions: 1- Are the aero bars that much quieter? Do they work with a gutter system? 2- can a Jeep hardtop support the weight of bars and a rooftop carrier? Any idea of the weight limits? 3- is their an alternate brand or solution you recommend?

To answer your last question first the Thule WingBar roof rack is a great option that I highly recommend. The rack to fit your 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited are:

60 inch WingBars # TH711520 (black) or # TH711500 (silver)
Rapd Gutter Feet # TH65BJ

If you prefer the square bars then you use:

60 inch SquareBars # TH712500
Rapid Gutter Feet # TH65BJ

Aero bars are noticably quieter. They obviously have the aerodynamic design, plus the WingBars are constructed of aluminum so they're lighter and they have the WindDiffuser rubber stripping to reduce noise.

We have installed roof racks on a number of Wranglers. The Thule racks are designed for 165 pounds but you may want to check your owner's manual, or with Jeep, to find the exact capacity of the roof.
