Weight Distribution for a 2014 Toyota Tundra and 2016 Flagstaff Classic Super Lite Travel Trailer
Question:
I want to purchase the equalizer hitch 10,000lbs for my 2016 Flagstaff Classic Super Lite travel trailer 35 ft. I will be pulling the trailer with my 2014 Toyota Tundra SR5 CrewMax truck. I just want to confirm that this hitch will fit my needs and if I purchase it, will I need any additional parts? Silly questions but this is my first time and I am a novice rver. Thanks.

There are about 10 different models of the Flagstaff Classic Super Lite travel trailers that are all around 35 feet long but they have different weight capacities. Check the literature for your model's gross trailer weight capacity and tongue weight/hitch weight rating.
To choose a weight distribution system you will need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.
Depending on the final numbers with the trailer ready to tow the 10K Equal-I-zer system # EQ37100ET may not be rated high enough and you would need to go to the next highest system, # EQ37120ET rated for 1,200 pounds tongue weight.
As far as either system fitting the trailer I do not anticipate there will be a problem because the frame brackets are narrow and can be mounted within a range along the frame rails to help avoid propane tanks, boxes, or jacks. The systems also come with everything so no additional parts are needed.
The shank that comes with these systems has a max rise of 7 inches and max drop of 3 inches. If more rise or drop is needed to tow the trailer level there are other shanks sold separately.
