Are Tire Cables Legal Traction Devices Where Snow Chains are Required
Question:
I am from Florida, so pardon the ignorance. I have purchased these 4 total for my 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4x4, as insurance for a West Virginia ski trip. Are cable chains as legally acceptable through out the US as link chains in chains required ordinances?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, the Glacier tire cables part # PW1046 that you referenced would satisfy snow chain requirements in snowy areas. These won't provide quite the same traction that chains would, but cables will allow you to get around in the snow and are a legal solution.
