For your 2017 Dodge Durango, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver Class III - 2", # 75713, that you mentioned. I have attached an installation video for you. This is a very nice hitch.
If you need a ball mount, I recommend the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches - 7,500 lbs, # 989900. This kit will give you to different ball mounts of different heights and two hitch balls to connect your trailer. You may want an adjustable ball mount like the 180 Hitch 2-Ball Mount w/ Stainless Steel Balls - 2" Hitch - 6" Drop, 7" Rise - 10K, # LTB6-2. I've attached an article to help you select the right ball mount for your needs.
For your vehicle wiring, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, # C55515 if you have a tow package. This will give you a 4 way connection with surface-mount technology. It will require a hot lead wire (included) to be run to the battery. This will power the converter and protect your vehicle wiring. With this 4 way in place, I recommend the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires, # ETBC7. This will use that 4 way, and then give you the wire, the connectors and the circuit breakers needed to complete your 7-way wiring. I've attached a video of this installation for you, including a video of connecting the reverse function wire.
To use a trailer with brakes, you will need to add a brake controller. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional, # 90195. This is a great brake controller that has a very easy to use LCD display. This controller takes the guess-work out of codes and LED functions. It is simple to understand and gives you the information you need in an easy to read and understand way. It has a complete diagnostic system that will let you know of any issues between the controller and your trailer. It also has 3 boost levels to dial in and adjust for your specific needs. It will apply brakes to the trailer with the same amount of force as you apply the brakes in your Durango.
