Is Hitch Height On Curt Class III 2 Inch Hitch # C13067 Same As Factory Hitch On 2011 Ford Edge SEL
Question:
is hitch height on (C13067) 2011 ford edge SEL same as factory installed?

Expert Reply:
When the Curt Class III 2 Inch Hitch, part # C13067, is installed on a 2011 Ford Edge SEL the hitch receiver opening is located right under the rear fascia. If your vehicle has the factory 1-1/4 inch hitch on it the Curt hitch will fit right beneath the factory hitch. The recommended Curt Ball Mount, part # C45010, has a 3/4 inch rise or a 2 inch drop. If you use the ball mount with the 3/4 inch rise it will put you close to the factory hitch height.
You will want to measure the difference between the coupler height of your trailer and the hitch height on your vehicle to determine the correct ball mount rise or drop you will need for towing.
Some items you may need to complete your Class III towing setup are the Curt Ball Mount, part # C45010, the
Pin and Clip, part # PC3, the Tow Ready 2 Inch Hitch Ball, part # 19247, and the Tow Ready Wiring Harness, part # 118515.
I am including a link to the Tow Ready wiring harness instructions and a video link of the harness being installed on a 2002 Honda Civic. The vehicle is different but the wiring principle will be the same.
