Installing a K-Source Vision Backup Camera on a 2014 Kia Soul

I am considering the KSVS-8 K-Source Vision System Backup Camera w/ Rearview Mirror and Night Vision. I have a 2014 Kia Soul base model. Do you foresee any issues installing this product into my vehicle?

Installing the K-Source system is generally the same from vehicle to vehicle in that you need to install the mirror, run wiring to the rear of the vehicle and install the camera and video connections. However, the amount of work that is needed to install the kit on each vehicle will be different. Interior body panels will have to be removed, wiring will be cut and spliced in the vehicle's wiring, and you may have to modify or cut exterior body parts to install the camera. The manufacturer recommends that you have the camera installed by a professional.
Before installing of the K-Source Vision System Backup Camera # KSVS-8 on your 2014 Kia Soul, you will need to know the style of the mirror mount on your Kia.
You will need to inspect your Kia's rear view mirror mount to see if it will be compatible to the K-Source mirror. If the mirror is secured with a set screw and slips over the mirror mount, then your Kia uses the wedge mount and the K-Source mirror will work on your vehicle. If your mirror has to twisted 90-degrees and then pulled down to remove it from the windshield, then you have a cam lock design. The K-Source mirror cannot be installed on a cam lock mount.
If you have the cam lock style and not able to install a mirror mounted camera system, I recommend the Rear View Safety Backup Camera # RVS-5350. The camera is mounted at the rear license plate and wiring will run from the camera to the monitor. The Rear View Safety kit has a larger display than the K-Source system. The # RVS-5350 has a 4.3 inch color LCD display.
I have attached a video that shows the installation of the K-Source camera system. Although the vehicle is not a Kia, the video will give you an idea of how labor intensive installing the K-Source can be and why the manufacturer recommends to have the camera installed by professionals.
