Using a Blue Ox Tow Bar with Roadmaster Base Plates on a 2012 Lincoln MKZ

Question:

I currently tow a 2012 Lincoln MKZ with a Roadmaster 6000 base plate and tow bar. The tow bar is very heavy and difficult to hook up. I have a friend that is offering to sell me a Blue Ox tow system at a very good price. Do you have adapters that would allow me to use the Blue Ox tow bar. If so, how is the adapter mounted and what is the price?

There is more than one adapter to go from Roadmaster base plates to Blue Ox tow bars. I would need to know which model of Blue Ox tow bar it is to determine the right fit.

Adapter # RM-033 works with the following Blue Ox tow bars: Alpha, Aventa, Aventa II, Aventa LX, Kar Bar, Aladdin, Alexxa, Acclaim and A-frame Blue Ox tow bars with 1- or 3-pronged attachments. The adapter bolts to the base plate arms and the tow bars will pin to the adapter.

If you have Roadmaster EZ5, MS, or MX Base Plates then you would need adapter # BX88185 which will attach to the tow bar arms in place of the regular brackets on the ends of the arms.

If the tow bar is a Rangefinder II then you would need adapter # RM-037 which will fit all Roadmaster base plates except for MX or MS base plates. This adapter bolts to the base plate arms. Current pricing is available on each product page.
