Compatible Class I Hitch Bike Racks for Use in Draw-Tite Class I Hitch 24965 on 2013 Hyundai Sonata
Question:
I purchased the Draw-Tite hitch 24940 for my 2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. I attempted to attach my hitch compatible bike rack to the hitch, but the hitch will not fully seat into the hitch receiver. I looked into the hitch receiver and noticed that a small round piece of metal was partially punched-out in the back of the hitch receiver, preventing the bike racks hitch from being installed. What can I do?

Draw-Tite Class I hitch # 24965 is a confirmed fit on your 2013 Hyundai Sonata. This light-duty 1-1/4-inch hitch is the only type offered for your car and it includes a weld stop to prevent use of hitch-mount accessory items that are not rated as Class I. This is a safety feature. Odds are your bike rack is not a Class I product.
In this hitch you need to use a Class I bike rack of no more than 2-bike capacity. We offer many such bike racks which are shown on the linked page. These include platform style racks like the Swagman XTC-2 # S64670. Any rack that provides at least 5-inches of clearance from the hitch pin hole will fit well on the back of your car. Both of the racks noted above will fit quite well.
