Could Trailer Wiring for 2013 Kia Optima be Used for Powering Bumper Lights on Vehicle
Question:
Hi, Question about your product: 2013 Kia OptimaCurt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56314 I am looking to wire up LED bumper lights to this T-harness but am not sure if the wiring setup would work and which wires, I would need to splice into on the T-harness if it is feasible. I need to connect three wires from my LED bumper product - one for ground, one for running lights, and one for the brake lights Im coming here because I dont want to tap into the stock harness on the car itself. On your product, I see 4 wires at the end white, black, yellow, green. If I were to wire the ground wire from the LED product to the ground wire on the T-harness, in addition to the running lights and brake lights wires from the LEDs to various wires on the T-harness, would that work in theory? This is assuming I would cut off the plastic connector at the end of the T-harness. Example setup: -Ground wire from LEDs to ground black? wire on T-harness -Running lights wire from LEDs to green wire on T-harness -Brake lights wire from LEDs to yellow wire on T-harness Or should the running lights wire and brake lights wire be spliced into different colored wires on the T-harness? Or does this setup not work at all? Note that I don't need turn single functionality. Let me know if anything needs clarified, and I appreciate your help! Thanks,

If you installed the Curt harness part # C56314 on your 2013 Kia Optima you would be able to use it as a way to splice in additional taillights if needed.
The white wire would get grounded. The brown would go for the running lights, the yellow for left turn/stop, and the green for right turn/stop.
Essentially what you would be doing would be just like powering a trailers taillights so this harness would work just fine.
To isolate out the stop light you would need the converter part # 118158.
