Which way do you place the hitch to the short side to the front or to the back

The Andersen Ultimate Connection, part # AM3200, can be used with the shorter side to the front or the back. This adapter will not work with truck beds shorter than 6-ft.

If you need the additional 5-1/4 inches of clearance from the back of the truck cab then you would place the short side closer to the tailgate. If you dop not need the additional clearance you can place it so the short side is closer to the truck cab.
