Does Spare Tire have to be Relocated to Install Curt Trailer Hitch 14055 on a 2012 Ford Van

will this trailer hitch allow for factory spare mounting or do i need to relocate my spare tire? Thanks

The spare tire on your 2012 Ford Van will be retained in the factory location so you will not have to relocate it to install Curt trailer hitch # 14055. Temporarily removing it so that you have more room to install the hitch is a good idea but it would go back into the same place when installation is complete.

If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # EBMK2216. It comes with a ball mount with a 1 inch rise or 2 inch drop, 2 balls, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

And if the van did not come with a factory trailer connector you can add a 4-Way flat connector using # 118551.
