Hanger Spacing for Tandem Trailer with 25-1/4 inch Leaf Springs and 7-3/4 inch Equalizers

Question:

Hi, I have a 2005 Tahoe Transport 33foot 5th wheel tandem axle. My stock hangers broke and I am replacing them. They were bent or broken so it was hard to determine the stock spacing, looked like 31inch but that doesnt seem correct from what I have seen online. I bought new hangers, 7-3/4inch equalizers and the Neverfail suspension upgrade kit from you. I have 1-3/4inch wide 5 leaf double eye springs that are 25-1/4inch eye to eye. I think my axles are 6000 lb. So what should the hangers spacing be eye to eye? Thank you,

Helpful Expert Reply:

For a tandem axle trailer using 25-1/4-inch double-eye springs like # e57SR and a 7-3/4-inch equalizer like # TREQE1 the hanger spacing should be approximately 29-1/2-inches. This is a starting point and you may need to adjust this dimension slightly.
