Trailer Wiring Recommendation for 2015 Dodge Durango Citadel
Question:
I have a 2015 Dodge Durango citadel. Is there any wiring harness that does not require a wire run to the battery? I had a 2012 Dodge Durango that did not require a battery run. Are the 2 compatible? Thanks

For your 2015 Dodge Durango Citadel you would need the Tekonsha trailer wiring harness part # 118617. The taillight wiring of your vehicle can't handle the amperage load of trailer wiring so that is why you have to run a power wire up to the battery of the vehicle.
This allows the trailer wires to be powered by the vehicle battery which prevents your taillights from getting overdrawn and damaged. This may be a bit more in-depth for installation but it is the best way to go.
I attached an install video for you to check out as well.
