Does Bed Length Matter When Towing a Bumper Pull Boat Trailer

Question:

Im curious if having an 8-foot bed on a Toyota Tundra is suggested over six and a half foot bed. Do laws permit towing a boat with an 8 foot bed and for physics fake is having a larger bed with more weight in the back safer in preventing Fish tail? The boat I plan on pulling is about 2097 pound s so with motor and trailer probably about 2800 pounds. I currently have Tacoma V6 4x4 2004 that weighs 38600 and dont feel comfortable with upgrades keeping me in a safe place regardless. Your help is much appreciated!

Bed length isn't normally a big issue for towing a trailer at the rear of a vehicle with a trailer hitch. You would not notice any significant ride quality issues going from one bed length to the other for your 2015 Toyota Tundra.

If you were towing a fifth wheel trailer like with the part # RP30081 then a longer truck bed is definitely preferred as it allow better turning clearances without hitting the cab of the truck.
