Brake Controller and Install Harness Recommendation for 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
I need a brake controller that will work with a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a factory tow package. The R V dealer recommended a tekanosha voyager but it does not work with the jeeps computer - everything works but the brakes.l had jeep dealer test the jeeps system and everything is fine on their end. Have you had any feedback on controllers working on 2016 jeep grand cherokees? Our trailer is sttting until this matter can be corrected. Thanks for your time and expertise in this question.

For a brake controller for your 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.
The correct install harness needed to install this controller in your vehicle is the part # TK93VR. I attached an install video that shows this harness installing a similar Tekonsha controller in a 2014 Grand Cherokee.
As long as you use the correct install harness and follow the very simple instructions this controller would fit and work well.
