Recommendation On A 5th Wheel Hitch and Suspension Enhancement on a 2015 Ford F-350 6 Foot Bed.

Question:

Im looking at a 2015 Ford F-350 diesel DRW to tow a 5th wheel trailer. It doesnt have the factory 5th wheel hitch. What do you recommend? Will I need something to keep my truck from sagging? The wife and kids don't like bumpy rides.

For your 2015 Ford F-350 with the 6 foot bed, I would look at a slider 5th wheel hitch to allow yourself enough clearance when making 90 degree turns wth the shortbed design of your truck.

The B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch # BWRVK3400-5W and the B&W Custom Under-bed Installation Kit # BWGNRK1111-5W is the 5th wheel hitch that I recommend for your application. The B&W slider hitch gives you 12 inches of fore and aft travel to help eliminate clearance issues in making turns and has a capacity of 20,000 lbs. The dual jaw design will give a superior jaw-to-king pin connection between your tow vehicle and 5th wheel trailer. The B&W Companion hitch removes to give you full access of the bed of your vehicle.

An added feature to the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch and Under-bed Kit is that it doubles as a gooseneck hitch. A gooseneck ball is included and can be installed in the center of the under-bed mount.

A suspension enhancement system would help you keep your truck from sagging and help improve the ride quality of your vehicle when towing. Firestone makes the Ride-Rite Air Ride Helper Springs # F2703 that can help the ride quality and enhance the factory suspension. The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Ride Springs can be manually adjusted for ride comfort, leveling and reduce the strain on the rear suspension of your truck. the load leveling capacity for the Firestone system is 7,500 lbs.

Another suspension enhancement system that will work for your Ford F-350 is the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TFR350SDF. The Timbren system is a non-air suspension system that has a load capacity of 8600 lbs. The Timbren system has a larger load capacity and more cost efficient than the Firestone system, but you have more control and adjustability of your suspension when using the Firestone Ride-Rite system.
