Recommended Fifth Wheel Hitch Options For 2016 Ford F-250 With Factory Prep Package
Question:
Hi, Just purchased a 2016 F 250 SD, 8 foot bed with factory fifth wheel prep. What are recommended fifth wheel hitches. Also, I have a Reese Pro Series 15,000. Is it recommended to purchase a hitch with a direct contact with the puck system or can my hitch be mounted on rails that connect to the puck system. Thanks,

Since you have the factory prep package in your 2016 F-250, you may want to take advantage of the puck system so you have complete access to the bed of your truck.
I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th-Wheel Hitch, part # BWRVK3300. This is a 20,000-lb hitch, and it has 1-inch thick dual-jaws for better king pin to jaw contact.
Another hitch that will work with the factory puck system is the Reese M5 Series, part # RP30921. This hitch has a 20,000-lb capacity.
The third option is to use an adapter like part # RP30156. This attaches to the puck system in the bed of your truck and you then use the fifth wheel hitch you already have. This is the least expensive option but you do have the hassle of removing it as well as the hitch when you are not towing for complete bed access. This adapter works with standard fifth wheel hitches.
If you need a wire harness for the bed of your truck I recommend part # C56000.
