Recommended Electronic Brake Controller and Wiring on 2002 Chevrolet Blazer with a 4-Way Connector
Question:
I have a 2002 blazer ls 4 dr 4wd, I have installed a frame mount hitch and used the factory light duty wire in the back passenger side to connect a 4 pin plug. I just purchased a RV with a 7 way flat plug, the RV is 1900 lb wgt, do I need a brake controller? Where do I get the other wire feeds from, I have looked high and low for a heavy duty wire set but dont see one. You assistance would be appreciated. Thank you in advance

If your new trailer has electric brakes then you're going to need an electronic brake controller in your 2002 Chevrolet Blazer. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 because it's the easiest to install and use. It will need to be hardwired into the Blazer with the included pigtail harness. The black wire from the harness will go to 12 volt power, the white to ground, the red to the stop light switch near your brake pedal (This is the wire that will only have power when the brake pedal is pressed), and the blue will run back to the connector at the rear of the vehicle.
To install a 7-way trailer connector and the wiring for the brake controller you'll need # ETBC7. This kit includes everything you'll need to install the 7-way and get power from the P2 to your trailer's brakes.
I've attached some help articles that may be helpful for you.
