Can a Shank from a Different Manufacturer be Used with Equal-I-zer Weight Distribution
Question:
Hello I recently purchased a equalizer wd hitch but need a longer shank. Do I have to get a equalizer brand one or are shanks fairly universal? Thanks

Weight distribution shanks are almost all the same though there are a few exceptions. The majority use 3/4 inch diameter holes that are spaced 1-1/4 inches apart on center. That is what the Equal-I-zer brand uses so you can use a shank from a different manufacturer.
One of the longer ones is actually an Equal-I-zer model, # EQ90-02-4500, which is 18 inches long. I have included a link to a video of it for you.
If you need one with more drop there are lots of options such as # EQ90-02-4400 with up to 9 inches of drop.
